packing.. well trying too

Its taken me five hours to pack, no joke. Not for the usual reasons like I can choose what to wear or over packing... it was because of those damn Kardasians. Every time they come on T.V. I get sucked in, so when there on for like 4 hours in a row that only gives me commercial breaks to pack. But finally its done and every things ready to go. Now if we could only leave tomorrow and not Monday. I'm so excited for vaca. When we went to OC last year we had so much fun, and I'm sure we will have repeat this year.

Any who, some of my family came in from Colorado and Kentucky so weve been out and about this past weekend. We went to this little town Occoquan, which is a little old town that turned houses into stores with the cutest antique stuff. I love going to places like that especially with the family. =)

my first sewing project

I've been inspired by Project Runway and I have decided to learn how to sew. Luckly, my Granny is a great sewer and has been constantly making quilts for years and has a whole room dedicated to it; she was my teacher today.

I decided to PJ pants, they're comfy, fun, and if I totally mess up the public will not see them. I think they turned out GREAT! And not to toot my own horn, but I did a pretty amazing job (even Granny said it too, and not just cuz shes my Granny lol). They're nice and big anc comfy and I never want to get out of them! I didn't take a whole lot of pics because I was concentrating on learning and I didn't want to make Granny feel too uncomfortable.

(dont mind the lack of make-up, pleasee)

I am using my left overs (the light teal on the left, which is much brighter in person) to make a little quilt. These are the other fabrics I plan on using. I'm going to get one more fabric that ties the pink and teal in more. I'm veryy excited about my sewing projectss.

shrimp fried rice

John and I just invested a wok and decided to break it in last night and make shrimp fried rice (and when I say "we" cooked it I mean that John cooked it, and I just keep bugging him to let me do something.. cooking isn't really my thing). My apartment still smells like a Chinese restaurant, but it was soo delicious.

Every time we cook something, we always make extremely too much and make enough for an army. So I know have about a week's worth of shrimp fried rice.. good thing it was delicious =).

happy belated mothers day

I know I'm like 2 minutes to late, but I had a g r e a t mothers day. It was so much fun to have all three generations cooking together, unfortunately I had to leave before the party really started but I still had fun. My Nona (Grandma in Italian) is almost 70 years old and you would never know it. She has a young soul and good genes, and they have definitely rubbed off on my mom and me. They are the two most important women in my life.

I took some pictures of my Nona's remodeled kitchen, this is not any old "grandmas house", my Nona has style and I love it.

The floral apron my mom is my great grandmothers, isn't it amazing! I already called it so my cousin won't steal it!

pahahhaha... my cheeks still hurt

Jo Koy is the funniest man alive... I have never laughed so hard in my life. And not only is he super funny, but he is a super awesome guy. He was totally down for taking pictures and signing autographs for the huge long line.

Bikini Body

I have never been a runner.. ever. I always worked out, but I always got scared looking at the treadmill. Every time I got on I would run 5 minutes and feel like death.

I have always admired those who could just keep running, and I always wanted to be one of those people; and now I almost am.

I found this great workout on women's health.com and it has a bunch a great stuff. I have been doing this running program that gradually builds you up to run for 30 minutes straight. I'm on week three (out of six) and I ran for eight minutes straight... a new record for me.

It makes me think that maybe at the end of the six weeks I will be one of those people who I before envied.

I love my curves, don't get me wrong, but I want to be healthy and cardio is a great way to maintain a healthy lifestyle ( and fitting back into my skinny jeans would be nice)

And for a little inspiration...

My life this past weekend has been consumed with economics... it will all be over tomorrow ( well at least until finals. FML)

I can't wait until summer time and I can have my freedom backk.

I snapped this shot on my way home from class and it makes me feel springy =)
